Video created through InShot, using many layered superimpositions and short clips that I have taken with an Iphone 11, as well as segments from other short films I have made, including ‘Mama’s Boy’ and ‘Decode’.
This video also has clips from an exhibition I saw by Gretchen Bender called ‘Image World’ discussing LGBTQIA+ rights and how it is perceived through the media. This was very prevalent to my work, as my overarching theme was childhood nostalgia, navigating mental health as we change and grow with age and develop into who we are today, but in particular how desperately challenging that is as someone diagnosed with CPTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) I wanted to touch on these specific challenges during my childhood, like canvasing sexuality and gender as well as dissociation and depression.
